The Art Week Style.Uz 2011 opened in Tashkent on 23 October. The organizer of the largest Central Asian creative project is the Fund “Forum of Culture and Arts of Uzbekistan”.
The main goal of the annual Art Week is to demonstrate the achievements in the field of national culture and arts, familiarize the audience with the latest trends, and create conditions for dialogue of artists, designers, craftsmen and fashion people.
This year, Style.Uz is being held under the slogan “Mix of dreams, colors and emotions”. It includes a large number of activities in areas like art, music, modern choreography, theater, film and design.
Among these events are the sixth Tashkent Biennale of Contemporary Art, the International Theatre Festival Theatre UZ/2011, and the International Contemporary Choreography and Sporting Plastic Competition.
Other events include concerts of world music stars, art and photo exhibitions, young designers’ fashion show “Underground”, various competitions and festivals, presentations of new projects, charity events and even a business forum. The Fund Forum will also present a Practical Encyclopedia on Civil Society.
Representatives of world-known companies of fashion, design and jewelry from around the world, design professors and specialists, art scientists, artists and photographers, and many others have arrived in Tashkent for the Art Week Style.Uz.
Among the first events of Style.Uz 2011 are an exhibition of costumes, jewelry and accessories by British designers, and a master class on combining national traditions and modern trends in fashion by specialists of London College of Fashion.
