Visitors coming to Uzbekistan and residents of the Republic of Uzbekistan may bring into the country the following:

- Foreign currency unlimited amount, must be declared on the T-6 form. At the request of a resident or a non-resident foreign currency can be accepted for safe keeping with issuance of a TC-21 receipt, with no fee charged;

- Consumer goods for personal use with a total value of no more than the amount equivalent to USD 50, without customs duties, if these goods are brought from the territory of a neighboring country;

- Goods for personal use with a total value of more than the amount equivalent to USD 1000 (one thousand), without of customs duties (VAT, customs duty and customs clearing) if these goods are brought from the territory of non-neighboring countries;

- Goods for personal use subject to the payment of excise tax, within the amounts permitted into the country without the payment of such tax, if brought from the territories of non-neighboring countries (the upper limits on the goods exempted from the payment of the excise tax, brought in by physical persons, are specified by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan).

It is forbidden to bring into the Republic of Uzbekistan:

Publications, manuscripts, cliches, drawings, photographs, photographic films, negatives, films, video and audio tapes as well as recordings and audio materials aiming to undermine the country's state and public system, territorial integrity, political independence and state sovereignty, and advocating war, terrorism, violence, national exclusiveness and religious hatred, racism and its forms (anti-semitism, fascism) as well as pornographic materials.
- Narcotic drugs, psycho-tropic substances and their precursors without a permit of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Rare and endangered species of animals as well as varieties of flora which are registered in the Red Data Book, including decorative plants without a permit of the State Committee for the Protection of Nature of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Jewelry made of precious metals and stones for commercial purposes without a license issued by the Agency for Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the amount of jewelry from precious metals and stones a physical person may bring into the country exempted from the payment of customs duties is 5 pieces with a total weight of no more than 30 grams);
- Medicines and medical equipment without a permit of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Radio-electronic devices from high-frequency appliances without a permit of the Ministry of Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Vegetative and animal products without a permit of the Sanitary-Epidemiological Service;
- Ozone-depleting substances and products without a permit of the State Committee for the Protection of Nature of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In a case of a person brings in goods for commercial activity he/she must be registered as a self-employed businessman having a right of export and import operations.

It is forbidden to take out of the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

- Grain namely wheat, rye, barley, oats, maize, buckwheat, bread (except for confectionery, pastries and biscuits which are home made), flour, cereals, livestock, poultry, meat and meat sub-products, dehydrated milk, raw and fermented tea, sugar and vegetable oils (the maximum limits on such goods that may be taken by physical persons out of the country are specified by the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan);
- Ethyl alcohol, raw hides (including sub-standard ones) and furs including karakul-sheep pelts (including sub-standard ones); non-ferrous metal scrap and wastes; silk-worm cocoons fit, raw (non-sewing) silk, silk wastes (including silk-worm cocoons unfit for unreeling, cocoon thread wastes and loosened wastes) as well as the above mentioned products, substances and means forbidden for entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Taking foreign currency out of the Republic of Uzbekistan:

Residents are permitted to: Take out an amount equivalent up to USD 2000 (two thousand) without a bank permit;
- Take out an amount equivalent from USD 2000 up to USD 10000 (five thousand), with a permit issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan or any authorized bank according to Form N 09006;
- Take out an amount equivalent to over USD 10000, with a permit issued by the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan according to Form N 09006-1;
Non-residents are permitted to: Take out foreign currency within the amount stated in the customs declaration at the time of entry. Non-residents may take out foreign currency in amounts exceeding the amount stated in the customs declaration at the moment of entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan, with the permit of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan or authorized banks.

Assignment of a permit to another person based on a notarized power-of-attorney is not permitted.

Any failure to indicate amounts of foreign currency, goods and material values as well as any other items of the customs declaration and to represent them to a customs inspector in case of oral inquiry is violation of the customs law. In the event of violation of customs laws and regulations, the protocol shall be done in accordance with the Customs Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
